Whatwill the Temporary CDL Bus Driver at Terrestris do?
The CDL Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting personnel, maintaining vehicle safety standards, and providing dependable transportation support in accordance with company policies, Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and applicable safety requirements.
This position requires a professional driver with strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate passenger transportation vehicles safely in a professional environment.
What does a typical day look like for a Temporary CDL Bus Driver?- Safely operate a passenger bus or shuttle vehicle to transport personnel between designated locations.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and required documentation.
- Assist passengers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Maintain situational awareness and prioritize passenger safety at all times.
- Report vehicle issues, safety concerns, delays, or incidents promptly to management.
- Support temporary operational transportation requirements as assigned.
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle environment.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement (Class A or B preferred).
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Previous experience operating buses, shuttles, passenger vans, or similar commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT safety regulations and commercial vehicle operations.
- Ability to pass any required background screening and company onboarding requirements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on operational needs.
- Prior experience supporting military, government, transportation, or large‑scale operational environments.
- Familiarity with base access requirements and installation transportation procedures.
- Experience transporting groups of personnel in a professional setting.
