Driver responsible for transporting students for the Clay County School District. Must comply with district and state regulations, maintain a safe driving record, and complete required certifications.

• Must possess a valid driver's license for at least five years.
• Must have a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brakes, Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) Endorsements.
• Must have a safe driving history prior to employment. Safe driving history shall be interpreted as follows:
  On a record search, no accumulation of points totaling 8 or more in any 12-month period within the three (3) years immediately preceding the record search; and no conviction for DUI within the seven (7) years immediately preceding the record search. A no-contest plea shall be considered the same as a conviction.
• Must maintain a safe driving record while employed.
• Must pass the annual physical examination as set by the Clay County School Board or the State of Florida.
• Must meet all requirements of State Board Rule 6A-3.
• Must be able to understand and follow written and oral communications.
• Prior to appointment into this position the incumbent must have satisfactorily completed the School Bus Driver Trainer Certification Course conducted by the State Department of Education and must satisfactorily complete the CDL Third Party Examiner Certification Course administered by the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles and maintain it while assigned to this position.

All prospective employees must submit to a Level 2 background check pursuant to Florida State Statute 435.04 and be found eligible by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

The background check will include, but is not limited to, fingerprinting for statewide criminal history records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, national criminal history records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies, and a search of the sexual predator and sexual offender registries of any state in which the prospective employee resided during the immediate preceding five years.
