SENIOR MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR –
This is a highly responsible and professional position serving as Senior Motor Vehicle Operator within Food Services. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player who works seamlessly across all sections within the program office.
Specific Duties and
Responsibilities include:
- Use principles of Total Quality Management; resulting in lifting, pulling, and squatting as required.
- Drive one and one‑half ton to two and one‑half ton trucks; carefully load food carts containing resident trays and beverage containers onto trucks for timely delivery to units, following the delivery schedule. Check tray line cooler for resident snacks and deliver to units. Document deliveries to units on log sheets. Deliver bulk food carts to Central Forensic. May deliver food for special functions.
- Pick up trays’ carts and bulk food carts from units after mealtime; unload and push carts into hallway to dish room.
- Clean and sanitize loading docks, areas around loading docks, food carts and utility carts; clean and sanitize trucks after use.
- Perform light maintenance and service work such as ensuring trucks have water, oil, and gas. Notify transportation if repair work is needed.
- Deliver late trays to units as needed and may deliver other food items to units as assigned.
- Pre‑prep the bake shop area.
- Attend in‑service training and meetings as assigned.
- While on duty, follow and carry out Florida State Hospital Unit/Department safety practices and policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
required for the position:
- Knowledge of the rules of the road.
- Knowledge of the procedures for operating a variety of motor vehicles.
- Skill in operating a motor vehicle.
- Ability to perform light maintenance and service work.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Possession of a Classified Driver's License appropriate to the type of vehicle operated and one year of experience operating a motor vehicle, in accordance with Florida Statute 322.
