Material Handling Technician

Location: Malabar

Pay Range: $21.00hr - $22.00hr Job Overview:
The candidate is responsible for performing the physical or administrative tasks supporting the shipping and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary. Within parameters, the candidate determines routing and arrangements for shipments, considering such factors as the nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, urgency, and cost. The successful candidate prepares and maintains records of shipped products, tracks shipments, and processes incoming materials against purchase orders.

The candidate also maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, and manages inventory on the manufacturing floor. Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements is essential. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate may reroute urgent shipments or arrange for special delivery at the destination. The candidate prepares and maintains records of shipped products and tracks shipments. The candidate receives incoming materials, unpacks and checks goods received against purchase orders or invoices. The candidate verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications. The candidate maintains records of received goods, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.

The candidate stocks and distributes materials in inventory and on the manufacturing floor. Innovation & Complexity:
Work is less structured within identified boundaries and procedures. The candidate follows established processes to complete tasks. The candidate identifies problems and issues in straightforward situations and escalates issues to a supervisor for resolution. Nature of Supervision:
The candidate works under general supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided, and moderate peer review is required.

Education & Experience:

The role requires developing job knowledge and skills. Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree.

Physical Requirements (Due to nature of job, The candidate must have):
Ability to lift heavy items. Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Benefits:
