The Administrative Assistant is an entry-level role supporting the Employee Benefits team with day-to-day administrative and service-related responsibilities. This position is ideal for someone looking to begin or grow a career in employee benefits and the insurance industry. The role focuses on managing employee eligibility updates while providing administrative, system, and client service support to ensure accurate benefits administration and high-quality service delivery.
WorkArrangement
This is a full-time position reporting to our office located in Flower Mound, TX with a possibility for a hybrid work arrangement.
Professional Responsibilities- Monitor and manage the employee benefits eligibility inbox
- Process employee enrollments, life event changes, and terminations accurately and timely
- Assist with resolving eligibility discrepancies with carriers and internal teams
- Support Customer Service Representatives and Account Management teams with daily service needs
- Respond to internal service requests and basic client inquiries via email and phone
- Assist with cancellations, audits, and billing-related tasks
- Enter and maintain eligibility and policy data in the agency management system (Agency Bloc)
- Assist with system updates, policy rollovers, and documentation management
- Support audits, carrier follow-ups, and general administrative tasks
- Assist with printing, assembling, and packaging benefit materials
- Learn employee benefits concepts, carrier processes, and internal workflows
- Take on additional responsibilities as skills and experience grow
- Obtain required state insurance license within 6 months of employment (training and support provided)
- High School Diploma required
- 2+ years of administrative, office, or customer service experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Comfortable learning new systems and technology
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
