As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. You’ll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. WhatYou’ll Do
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.
- Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon, anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.
- Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.
- Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.
- Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.
- Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.
- Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
- Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
- Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
- Greeting guests with a smile
- Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures
- Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
- Preparing treatment rooms
- Assisting with conscious and IV sedation
- Performing X-rays Charting existing and recommended treatments
- Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team
- Active Registered Dental Assistant License
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of 1 year of specific oral surgery experience
- Must be willing to travel within assigned areas
