Overview
The Purchase Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for driving purchase sales through inbound warm transfers and outbound calling to portfolio retention residential loan customers.
Responsibilities- Conduct outbound and receive inbound mortgage sales calls in a fast‑paced call center environment.
- Solicit residential mortgage loans from a captive portfolio of Purchase candidates.
- Process residential loan applications according to established company and regulatory guidelines.
- Send, receive and review applications, disclosure packages, and qualifying documents from borrowers.
- Utilize systems for maintaining product knowledge, register loans accurately, and manage pipeline.
- Understand and articulate financial calculations, rates and fees, appraisals, and product guidelines.
- Use persuasive communication skills and inside‑sales experience to meet conversion targets.
- Use excellent follow‑up skills to ensure targeted conversion rates are met.
- Partner with operations teams to ensure the seamless transfer of files.
- Monitor and update CRM.
Experience & Education
- 2+ years of mortgage origination experience.
- Mortgage origination experience required; recent call center purchase experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
Finance and Business Administration graduates encouraged to apply.
Skills & Knowledge
- Self‑motivated with high energy and a positive attitude.
- Excellent phone etiquette and articulate use of the English language.
- Excellent interpersonal, follow‑up, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills, and proficiency with loan‑origination and customer‑relationship‑management software.
- Detail oriented and results driven with a focus on customer service.
- Bilingual or multi‑lingual preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
- Active NMLS registration.
- Encompass and Velocify experience preferred.
The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to handle, touch or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee is rarely required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
