We are seeking a hands-on Production Manager to oversee 2nd shift production and maintenance operations at our wood manufacturing facility in Denton, TX. This position is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience managing production teams in a lumber, plywood, or wood products manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving continuous improvement and developing employees.

• Oversee daily production and maintenance operations for wood and plywood reel manufacturing.
• Manage production schedules, priorities, and workflow to ensure customer demands and productivity goals are achieved.
• Supervise Production and Maintenance Supervisors, providing leadership, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure raw materials, finished goods, spare parts, consumables, and equipment are properly received, inspected, stored, and controlled.
• Verify production activities comply with established quality standards, productivity targets, and company procedures.
• Ensure non-conforming materials are properly identified, segregated, and prevented from further use.
• Monitor the proper operation and safe use of machinery, equipment, and production tools.
• Partner with Quality, Health, Safety, and Maintenance teams to establish goals, improve processes, and maintain compliance.
• Support predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Lead daily production meetings to review performance, align priorities, and communicate operational goals.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, and overall plant performance.
• Ensure production waste is properly managed and disposed of according to company procedures.
• Coordinate employee training and development to improve skills, safety awareness, and operational performance.
• Enforce company policies related to quality, health, safety, environmental standards, and human resources.
• Identify and address workplace hazards to promote a safe working environment.
• Utilize ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications to manage production activities, reporting, and operational data.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information and ensure appropriate use of company systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• 3-5 years of production management experience in a lumber, plywood, wood products, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading production teams and supervising employees in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, workflow management, and manufacturing operations.
• Experience working with wood manufacturing equipment and machinery.
• Proven ability to manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive operational improvements.
• Experience using ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented leadership style.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as business needs require.
