Summary
The Living Well Specialist first and foremost is responsible for guest relations and satisfaction. He/She represents the “living well” lifestyle in the store and is an advocate of a healthier approach to shopping. He/She is responsible for all the products and activities of the Living Well General Merchandise department. Their number one priority is providing Ultimate Service through sales, guest service, and overall operations of the Living Well General Merchandise department.
Guest service includes answering questions, directing guests to products, proactive selling, cross‑selling products, and providing information and education.
- When a guest enters my area or department, my first and most important responsibility becomes to acknowledge, greet, and engage that guest.
- Responsible for training, scheduling, performance and productivity of department team members.
- Updates and maintains operational binder.
- Orders or supervises ordering of products.
- Responsible for proper stock levels.
- Ensures products are rotated and shelves are clean.
- Ensures that products are properly merchandised on shelf.
- Implements and maintains display/end cap programs.
- Ensures correct pricing of products and tag placement.
- Stays current with new products and trends.
- Knowledgeable about the Health notes computer and encourages guest usage.
- Educates guests and team members about products.
- Manages invoices, credits and special orders.
- Works closely with Category Manager to monitor item movement.
- Meets production and profit goals that are established for the Living Well department.
- Monitors the organization and condition of backroom.
- Involved in the planning and execution of Expo Saturday and other special events.
- Facilitates consumer education classes and community outreach.
- Performs other duties as requested or required by upper management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Retail experience.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Management experience: scheduling, ordering, selling, merchandising, supervising, and prioritizing.
- Extensive knowledge of natural body care and supplements; including herbs, aromatherapy, vitamins, homeopathy, and sport nutrition.
- This position will require stamina and energy and will require long periods of standing. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.
