Role Description

The Inside Sales Representative plays a critical role in supporting SPC's Outside Sales team by generating quotes, managing customer inquiries, identifying sales opportunities, and delivering exceptional customer support. This role works directly with experienced Outside Sales Representatives serving customers in the telecommunications, fiber optic, utility, and rapidly growing data center markets.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, competitive, and enjoys building relationships with customers. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, responsiveness, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced sales environment.

This position is designed as a career-development role for individuals interested in building a long-term sales career. You will work side‑by‑side with our experienced Outside Sales Representatives, participate in customer meetings, learn technical products and applications, develop account management skills, and gain exposure to sales strategy and territory development.

As we are expanding our sales team coverage, top performers will have the opportunity to advance into an Outside Sales Representative role, managing their own territory and customer base. Key Responsibilities
  • Generate accurate quotes for customers based on requests, RFQs, and purchase orders.
  • Support Outside Sales Representatives by managing inbound inquiries and pricing requests.
  • Coordinate with outside reps and internal teams to obtain pricing, lead times, and technical information.
  • Track and follow up on open quotes to help convert opportunities into orders.
Customer Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned accounts when outside reps are unavailable.
  • Respond to customer questions regarding product availability, pricing, order status, and delivery timelines.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers to ensure a high level of service.
  • Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information in Net Suite or CRM system.
  • Assist with pipeline tracking and follow‑up on open opportunities.
  • Document customer interactions and quote activity.
Order Processing & Coordination
  • Convert customer POs into sales orders.
  • Work with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely fulfillment.
  • Assist with expediting orders and communicating updates to customers.
  • Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives to support territory growth.
  • Participate in sales meetings and product training sessions.
  • Continuously build knowledge of telecom, fiber optic, and electrical installation products.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of sales, inside sales, or sales support experience.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and follow‑up skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple quotes and customer requests simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • Experience using Net Suite or other CRM systems.
  • Experience generating quotes and working with purchase orders.
  • Exposure to telecom, fiber optic, electrical, or technical products.
  • Base salary: $55,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience)
