Material Handler

1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday‑Friday
Pay Rate: $16.58
Responsibilities- Coordinate all operations within the materials department, including material planning, procurement, shipping/receiving, and warehousing to ensure timely delivery of finished goods/materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with purchasing to maintain adequate parts and raw material levels for manufacturing.
- Process requests efficiently so that all departments receive the goods they need promptly.
- Keep production flowing smoothly by ensuring the proper materials are on hand at all times.
- Communicate with customers to meet expected turnaround times.
- Handle shipping and receiving of products to and from other branches and vendors, including UPS shipments.
- Perform cycle counts and reconcile variances.
- Process defective units.
- Maintain accurate records of all materials received and distributed, updating inventory systems.
- Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of received materials to ensure they meet specifications.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of new processes as needed.
- Communicate with various departments to understand material needs and ensure timely fulfillment.
- Comply with quality performance standards.
- Follow warehouse safety regulations.
- Perform all other duties assigned based on the business the warehouse supports.
- Proficiency in overseeing product flow processes and troubleshooting material‑handling issues.
- Working knowledge of inventory management systems.
- Understanding of Six Sigma, 6S, and Lean concepts.
- Ability to prioritize workflow efficiently and demonstrate problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capacity to engage with customers professionally.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Capability to manage a busy workload, organize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Demonstrated decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Proficient computer knowledge, including MS Word, Excel, and spreadsheet applications.
- Understanding of Oracle purchasing module.
- Previous experience in a high‑volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service, or forward logistics operation.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
