Moving to the North Georgia area? This job may be for you! This position supports the day-to-day administration of Flowery Branch United Methodist Church by fulfilling the administrative responsibilities listed below, helping strengthen and support the congregation’s mission and ministry.
Position Type:
Part time – 20 hours per week, Tuesday thru Friday in the church office.
Reports to:
The position reports directly to the Pastor and requires flexibility when working with church volunteers.

Qualifications and Skills- Technical school or college degree in business management preferred.
- Three to five years of office management experience required, with experience in a Christian church environment strongly desired.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and experience using Power Church or other accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate with staff, church members, and volunteers.
Office Administration and Records
- Provide administrative support to ensure efficient office operations.
- Perform data entry and update databases, including membership information, the church directory and other reports required by the United Methodist Church monthly and end of year reports.
- Maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
- Prepare and distribute memos, letters, and other documents.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other correspondence. Greeting and assist visitors to the church.
- Send email correspondence using the church email system, including the weekly bulletin, monthly newsletter, and other announcements as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial information.
- Enter monthly payroll information submitted to the payroll accounting firm.
- Create quarterly and annual donor giving statements.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks using Power Church software. Work with the accounting firm to provide accurate monthly financial reports as requested.
- Assist the Finance Chair with timely completion of tax reporting forms and compliance with tax regulations.
- Manage calendars, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings. Prepare handouts, agendas, and minutes.
- Set up Zoom meeting arrangements as needed.
- Prepare the weekly worship bulletin using appropriate software. Maintain church signage information.
- Prepare the weekly worship slide presentation using appropriate software.
- Update and maintain information on the church website and social media, as needed.
- Assist ministry leaders in promoting events and programs.
- Monitor the security cameras.
- Coordinate volunteers for office duties and church functions.
- Order supplies for office events, hospitality, and worship.
- Process background checks for staff and volunteers.
