Summary (Position Description): This engineering role will provide design support for the development of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) power generation systems, and the transfer of the design to the production team. This position works directly for the Engineering Manager and helps drive the engineering organization within a well-structured and organized team. This engineer will work on the conceptual design of new product variants and assist the production team as new products and prototypes are manufactured.
This will include redline corrections to drawings and BOM’s. This position will also work with the production team to develop work instructions, and with the service team to develop field instructions to work on the new products. This engineer will support the design process with engineering calculations, and the development of technical documentation needed for certifications.

Duties & Tasks:
- Develop conceptual designs for new product variants
- Develop and/or maintain technical documentation and calculations for certifications
- Create and/or work with equipment solid models and drawings
- Create and/or work with Production work instructions
- Create and/or work with Service field instructions
- Understand functionality of product and contribute to the design process
- Redline update drawings based on production needs
- Update BOM’s for produced parts and kits
- Other duties as assigned by management
- Assist/conduct factory acceptance test
- Assist/conduct field commissioning or troubleshooting
- Assist with the assembly of prototypes
- Assist production when needed
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Mechanically inclined
- Technical writing skills
- Strong computational ability (design calculations)
- Ability to work well as part of multiple teams
- Self-starter that can work with minimal oversight
Requirements:
- Team player, who takes role ownership and initiative to advance all aspects of product support and design
- Strong interest in mechanical design
- CAD Modeling experience (Solid Works preferred)
- Engineering Degree, with relevant experience (Mechanical preferred)
- 2-5 years related experience
- Ability to travel, including overseas (10-20% of time)
- Office / Desk (typical office environment)
- Test Cell – Factor acceptance testing and development validations (indoor & outdoor industrial environment)
- Production floor – assisting production team / building prototypes (typical fabrication shop environment)
- Field work – commissioning assistance / troubleshooting (varies by site, typical industrial process environment)
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work with basic hand tool
