Job Purpose
The Controls Technician is the PCIS systems owner for the production areas and is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses. The PCIS Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining all site equipment.
Shift Details12 Hour Night Shift / 2-2-3 Rotating Shift
Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2:
Wednesday, Thursday
Hours:
6pm - 6:30am
- Must have met time in role (12+ months)
- Must have line manager approval to apply
- Must be in good standing in current role
- 2-year Technical Degree/Certificate (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation) or equivalent experience
- 1+ years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, and Factory Controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution
- 1+ years experience in a controls function, working in a manufacturing environment
- Frequent lifting/carrying/pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling and gripping
- Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment and work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift)
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- 2-year Technical Degree (Electrical/Electronic/Controls/Automation)
- 2+ years Instrumentation & Electrical, Electronics, or Factory Controls & IT experience, including production system troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Server Administration, Virtual Infrastructure Administration, & Database Administration knowledge
- Possess or can obtain Operational Electrical Qualification Certificate (must be able to work independently on live electrical panels)
- Excellent communication skills required
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze and test applications for Factory Control systems
- Good understanding of Rockwell 5000 and Siemens Step 7 Controls Systems environments including Control Logix, Compact Logix, Factory Talk, and Step 7
- Ability to work well with user departments to provide operational support in the use of HMI terminals, along with software applications on Control Systems
- Understanding of industrial networks including, but not limited to, Ethernet, Profibus, and Profi Net
- Ability to troubleshoot programs residing in Siemens, and/or Rockwell Automation PLC Control Systems preferred
- In-depth knowledge of installation, programming, and troubleshooting of VFDs, Servo Drives, and sensors
- Must have strong electrical troubleshooting skills of complex industrial manufacturing equipment
- Field service experience preferred
- This role will operate in a team of 4 to troubleshoot and repair all electrical machine stops throughout the factory
- $5,000 Sign on Bonus
