Inventory Control Analyst; Parts - PMC-Flowood

We are seeking a dynamic and detail‑oriented Inventory Control Analyst (Parts) at our corporate headquarters in Flowood, MS. This position reports to the Parts Administrative Support Manager and is responsible for corporate‑wide oversight and administration of inventory control activities related to all OEM and allied parts, ensuring appropriate stocking levels, optimized cycle turns, and maintained inventory integrity.

• Analyze, monitor, and anticipate/requisition Caterpillar parts inventory to maximize availability for parts counter sales and service department repair operations at all branch locations; prepare and maintain reports on parts availability trends.
• Establish and maintain inventory system parameters; determine dispositions for surplus, non‑moving, and/or non‑returnable inventory; coordinate bulk purchases and surplus returns; add non‑stock items per ordering policies; monitor consigned inventory.
• Assist the Technical Services department with parts inventory needs for new product introductions, major recalls, and service letter directives from Caterpillar; provide subject‑matter expertise to branch personnel.
• Manage and maintain vendor relationships with the company’s logistics vendor for intracompany parts shipping; monitor OEM parts supplier performance (completeness, timeliness, accuracy, cost, and quality).
• Lead company‑wide annual physical parts inventory facilitation, periodic surplus returns, vendor invoice processing, and Caterpillar metric reporting (incoming and outgoing); track completion progress and compile after‑action review reporting.
• Perform basic data analysis and interpretation to develop business insights for product support operations.
• Maintain positive working relationships and effective communication with all internal and external customers and Caterpillar personnel.

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred;
  Associate’s degree or equivalent experience considered.
• Expert level experience with Microsoft Office Excel, including advanced formulas, Pivot Tables, and basic VBA.
• Experience with inventory control measures, supply chain, dealer management information systems (DBS), and/or legacy AS400 systems preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL reading/modifying, database structure, basic programming logic, Power BI or comparable systems highly desired.
• Effective collaboration skills with all levels of staff and management.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (written, verbal, analytical, negotiation, cross‑departmental).
• Ability to organize, multi‑task, prioritize workload, and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
• Superior problem‑solving skills, proactive mindset, and high accuracy.
