Business Analyst

Ergon Trucking is seeking a full-time Business Analyst to join the team. This role serves as the analytical engine for our operations, transforming raw maintenance, safety, logistics and financial data into the strategic insights that move our organization forward.

Reporting to the leadership team, you will be responsible for building the "source of truth" for our operations-developing KPIs, managing dashboards, and identifying the trends that impact our bottom line. You will partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, Finance, and Safety teams to ensure our data is clean, our costs are understood, and our operational decisions are backed by rigorous analysis. This position is essential for ensuring that our facilities and fleet operate efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–6 years of experience in business analysis, financial modeling, or operations analytics.

• Operational Insight & KPI Development:
  Build and maintain automated dashboards to track critical operational metrics (e.g., equipment utilization, downtime analysis, and throughput).
• Maintenance & Lifecycle Analytics:
  Identify operational trends by analyzing equipment repair spend, preventive maintenance compliance, and lifecycle costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction.
• Safety & Compliance Reporting:
  Partner with Safety teams to track and visualize safety metrics, ensuring high data integrity for compliance reporting and risk mitigation.
• Financial Foresight:
  Translate complex operational and maintenance data into actionable summaries for leadership to improve margin transparency and budget accuracy.
• Data Engineering & Integrity:
  Clean and harmonize data from various operational systems to ensure a high level of accuracy in all reporting.
• Strategic Support:
  Perform scenario-based forecasting to help the division navigate fluctuations in labor costs, material spend, and operational demand.
• Collaborative Liaison:
  Act as the bridge between technical IT teams and the shop floor, ensuring that data systems effectively support the needs of maintenance and operations managers.
• Narrative Reporting:
  Prepare clear, concise monthly performance packages that translate complex operational data into a narrative for senior management.
• Data-to-Action:
  Facilitate meetings with regional and site managers to discuss findings, obtain concurrence on process improvements, and drive operational efficiency.

• Analytical Rigor: A "detective" mindset with a high attention to detail for cleaning messy operational and financial data.
• ERP Expertise: Exposure to SAP or similar enterprise systems is highly preferred.
• Communication Excellence: The ability to explain complex data findings to both shop-floor personnel and executive leadership.
• Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying "red flags" in the maintenance or safety data before they become financial liabilities.
• Advanced Excel: Mastery of Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) is required for deep-dive financial and operational modeling.
