Currently, The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a full‑time Middle School
/
Upper School History and Social Sciences Teacher for the academic year. Successful candidates will be committed to fostering the intellectual and personal growth of students through the mission of The Agnes Irwin School and the Core Values of Strive for Excellence, Lead with Character, Foster Trust and Community, Nurture Passions and Wellbeing, and Respect and Celebrate All.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Teach four sections of Middle and/or Upper School history coursesImplement current curriculum and contribute to its ongoing developmentPrepare course materialsMaintain student attendance and grade recordsEvaluate and grade student workMeet individually with students during Office Hours and planning periodsInform parents and Division Director of students’ progress through written reports and conferencesCreate and maintain a caring, safe environment conducive to students doing their best workParticipate in the life of the school by serving as an MS or US advisor and/or club sponsor, as necessaryParticipate in all staff meetings, assemblies, and other required school functions, including occasional evening or weekend eventsWork constructively with parents and colleaguesAttend conferences, workshops, and other professional development opportunities, and participate in the faculty evaluation processAssume other duties as assignedThe ideal candidate:

Bachelor’s Degree in History, or related field (advanced degree and previous teaching experience preferred)Proficiency in the use of classroom technology: interactive smart boards, LMS, various Google and Microsoft Office applications, etcStrong interpersonal skillsOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a multicultural environment and respect different values and viewpointsPhysical Demands of This Job:
Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and endurance to actively supervise and lead students and be responsible for their physical safety during all school‑related activities, including evacuations and other emergency response procedures#J-18808-Ljbffr
