The Elementary School MTSS Interventionist provides daily literacy and math interventions to elementary school students and conducts progress monitoring for those in intervention. They also communicate and collaborate with general education teachers and parents around students in intervention.
This position will be funded with ESSER grant funds and will be considered temporary. Employment in the position is for up to 1 year. Eligible staff will be placed on the involuntary transfer list upon the final year of the position.
Responsibilities- Attend all applicable intervention trainings including on-going training from Unit 5's instructional coaches
- Design district adopted evidence-based literacy and math intervention plans including progress monitoring of students in the multi-tiered support system.
- Collect data from staff, students, and parents as needed to inform teaching and learning, and support student progress.
- Develop, lead, implement, monitor, and collaborate with other educators in the school wide integration of MTSS.
- Communicate with caregivers of students placed into Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
- Manage and analyze student data on the data wall (Ex. cumulative file reviews, Illuminate scores, grade data, attendance, social-emotional history, etc)
- Collaborate with other members of the CARES (Collaborative Analysis and Response for Education Services) team.
- Collect and analyze data to assess and inform teaching and learning.
- Demonstrate knowledge of literacy and mathematical content and pedagogy.
- Create an environment of trust and respect between classroom teachers, staff and themselves.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers and caregivers
- Show professionalism, including integrity and confidentiality
- Illinois Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Experience delivering Tier II and Tier III interventions preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Fully Board Paid Medical, Dental, and Vision available
Per the negotiated contract between McLean County Unit 5 and the United Five Education Association, for the school year the starting salary range for candidates with a Bachelor's Degree is $42,640-$52,319 and is based upon Education and Certified Teaching experience. Candidates with a Master's Degree is $47,756-$61,017 and is based upon Education and Certified Teaching experience.
