Are you a finance pro who loves numbers, problem-solving, and keeping things running smoothly? As the Director of Finance & Budget with the Mississippi Lottery Corporation, you’ll oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls while helping the organization make smart, data-driven decisions. Your work will impact everything from daily operations to strategic planning, ensuring the Lottery stays on track while bringing fun and excitement to Mississippi.

- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor budget-to-actual results.
- Develop forecasts that reflect lottery sales, prize payouts, and operating costs.
- Oversee the player claims function to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance.
- Supervise and support the Financial Analyst and Player Claims team.
- Review staff-prepared analyses, reconciliations, and reports.
- Improve financial systems, reporting tools, and processes.
- Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with other departments to support operations and decision-making.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s a plus); relevant experience may be considered.
- Have 3+ years in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or planning, including supervisory experience.
- Understand GAAP, internal controls, and compliance, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Have led small finance teams and collaborated across departments.
- Partner effectively with leadership to provide insights and support strategic decisions.
- Are proficient with financial systems and Excel (advanced formulas, models, and analysis).
- Communicate complex financial information clearly to leadership.
- Experience in regulated or audited environments is a plus.
