Description

The Production Department is responsible for the delivery of quality Point Eight Power products in a timely manner in order to support our efforts of being a best in class manufacturer. The overall objective of this position is to provide high quality craftsmanship in all electrical assembly techniques in order to contribute to a team focused on achieving industry leading cycle time, delivering superior quality, and assisting in reducing per unit costs to drive operational success.
Consistent and accurate representation of the Point Eight Power brand, mission, vision, values, and organizational strategy are essential to achieving the goals of the organization.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 6AM to 3PM | With some half days on Saturdays
Location: This position is 100% onsite at our Bay St. Louis, MS facility.
Responsibilities- Demonstrates an advanced level of proficiency in executing workmanship on production projects including large line-ups and complex sections in all areas of assembly. Installing all types of electrical components and devices onto pans and into enclosures per drawing packages, assembly guides, and instructions defined by the Engineering Department.
- Prep and install electrical components, switches, meters, breaker cells, breakers, nameplates, sensors, etc. by reading and comprehending drawing packages, layouts and documents with little to no supervision, to efficiently build customized equipment in order to meet and exceed deadlines.
- Perform daily tasks with safe and proper use of equipment and tools. overhead cranes, pallet jacks, tilt tables, saw horses, stools, ladders, torque wrenches, drills, hand tools, air and electric power tools, tape measures, etc.
- Interpret and apply advanced electrical manufacturing knowledge and principles while reading specifications to make determinations on component parts, methods, sequencing, and advising team members and departments of errors to technical drawings as a means of proactive quality measures.
- Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized work area by complying with safety procedures, rules, quality standards and best practices, and relying on pre-established guidelines or directions from senior team members to perform tasks optimally.
- Maintain operational excellence by completing necessary paperwork such as Discrepancy Lists, Quality Check Lists, QCP Deficiencies, Shop Drawing Corrections, NCR’s
- Performance objectives, and their related measures, are determined in relation to the Strategic Plan; these are presented in accordance with Point Eight Power’s “Policy, Objectives, Leadership Commitment and Communication” procedure.
- All employees contribute to the effectiveness and success of the company; as such, all employees are jointly accountable for the achievement of these objectives. It is PEP’s expectation that personnel will execute their roles in accordance with the tenets set forth in the policies, procedures, and associated processes that comprise the Point Eight Power Business Management System.
- High School Diploma/GED,
Required.
- 1+ years of experience assembling electrical switchboards from a drawing package in a manufacturing facility, preferred.
- 3 years of experience working in an electrical apprenticeship, as an electronic repairman, or HVAC installer, preferred.
- Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Tools include: screw drivers, ratchet and sockets, wrenches, torque wrenches, cutters, tape measure, band saw, air and electric power tools, drills, inspection mirror, etc.
