The Operating Room Nurse will provide quality care to surgical patients via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and medication administration in the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Flowood. The Operating Room Nurse will collaborate with coworkers to achieve departmental goals and objectives in accordance with established policies.

• Check all equipment for proper functioning such as cautery machine, suction machine, OR light, and OR table
• Help scrub nurse with setting up the theater
• Assist anesthesia
• Prepare surgical instruments/tools and materials for the surgical team needed during the operation
• Apply knowledge of asepsis, infection control, and anesthesia

• Active Registered Nursing License—licensed to work in MS
• General clinical competency in acute patient care
• Aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters
• Nursing experience in a surgical setting preferred
• Current BLS certification (ACLS and PALS preferred)

• Team Player – works well as a member of a group
• Detail Oriented – capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well
• Dedicated – devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity

• Associate or better in Nursing or related field
• Bachelor or better in Nursing

• RN Bachelor's Degree
• RN Associate Degree
