Substation Technician
As a Substation Technician, you will support the successful delivery of substation construction projects by contributing to installation activities and developing your technical skills in a hands-on field environment. Working under the guidance of Foremen and Supervisors, you will assist in executing key scopes of work, gain exposure to substation construction practices, and build a strong foundation in safety, quality, and productivity standards.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to grow their career within the utilities and substation construction field.
Exposure or experience in:
- Conduit installation and routing
- Ground grid installation and basic grounding practices
- Precast trench installation and layout
- Cable tray installation for cable management
- Structural steel installation support
- Apparatus installation assistance
- Bus work installation support
- Low-voltage cable installation and basic wiring
Developing a working knowledge of substation materials, consumables, and tools, and understanding of their application in the field.
Demonstrate strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to follow direction while contributing to team success.
Safety-first mindset, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding construction environment.
Motivated to build your technical capabilities and advance within the substation construction field.
