Senior Software Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Product team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the Platter Shopify app, working closely with a Principal Software Engineer, Product Manager, Product Designer, and Product Marketing Manager. You will leverage your full-stack expertise to develop scalable, high-performance solutions that enhance user experiences and drive increased conversions for merchants.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the front end of our Shopify app using Next.js, Type Script , and Tailwind CSS.
• Design and implement RESTful and Graph
  
  QL APIs for seamless integration with the frontend and third-party services.
• Optimize database infrastructure using Planet Scale (MySQL) to ensure scalability, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate product goals into technical solutions.
• Optimize deployment and cloud-based infrastructure, utilizing platforms such as Vercel and AWS.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to ensure the use of cutting-edge technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: BS, MS, or MEng in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Next.js, Type Script , and frontend design systems (e.g., Tailwind CSS).
• Expertise in relational databases, particularly MySQL/Planet Scale.
• Experience building and consuming APIs (REST and Graph
  
  QL).
• Knowledge of Shopify’s ecosystem, APIs, and e-commerce development is a significant advantage.
• Proven ability to deploy and manage modern cloud infrastructure (e.g., Vercel, AWS).
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional teams.
• A passion for building intuitive, user-focused software solutions.
