General Statement (Summary Of Duties And Responsibilities)
The Donor Transport Driver/Transportation Coordinator is responsible for transportation related operations, ensuring the continuity of MORA organ and tissue operations according to policy and regulatory requirements. Duties include providing transportation services for the organ and tissue departments while complying with safety rules and regulations. Ensures that company vehicles are cleaned and maintained according to a preventive maintenance schedule. Assists in the intake and release of donors for recovery.
EssentialJob Functions
- Transport donors from assigned location to assigned destination using appropriate equipment and staff.
- Completing donor transport vehicle maintenance checks and logs.
- Inventory vehicle supplies and stocks/restocks vehicle with necessary supplies.
- Removes and replaces soiled linens and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions.
- Place donor on stretchers and load stretchers into donor transport vehicle.
- Reports facts concerning accidents or emergencies to hospital staff or law enforcement officials.
- Maintains required certification to operate donor transport vehicle.
- Participating in activities related to transporting, dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles, aircraft, or courier services.
- Managing and maintaining contact and communication with internal and external customers to maintain satisfaction.
- Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportation-related procedures as well as company operating and customer service objectives.
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
- Complying with transportation-related policies, as well as safety rules, and government regulations.
- Promoting safe work activities by conducting safety audits, and attending any necessary safety training.
- From time to time, participating in special projects that would be reasonably expected as part of your role.
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Frequent pushing/pulling, frequent lifting and carrying more than 100 lbs., and constant driving requiring prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- Travel:
Is required to travel by personal auto, rental car, MORA vehicle, light charter, and commercial aircraft in order to meet all of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
