Fuel General Manager
The Fuel General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the airport's fuel operations, including storage, distribution, and quality control. This senior role involves strategic planning and management to ensure efficient and safe fueling services, compliance with environmental and safety regulations, and coordination with airlines, regulatory agencies, and airport authorities. You will lead a team of professionals, setting objectives, managing budgets, and implementing policies and procedures to optimize fuel operations.
Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service, addressing any operational challenges, and staying informed about industry trends and technological advancements in aviation fuel management.
Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the airport's fuel operations, developing and implementing strategies for efficient and safe fuel management, managing relationships with fuel suppliers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and environmental standards, leading and directing a team of fuel professionals, coordinating with airport authorities, airlines, and ground services, overseeing the maintenance and operation of fuel farm facilities and equipment, implementing and managing safety and emergency response procedures, monitoring fuel market trends, preparing and managing the fuel department budget, innovating and implementing new technologies, conducting regular audits and inspections, responding to and resolving fuel-related issues, maintaining accurate records and reports, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications include being at least 21 years of age, holding a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), having a valid DOT Medical Card or Medical Examiner's Certificate (MCSA-5876), being able to obtain and maintain Hazmat (H), Tanker (N), and Air Brake endorsements, passing a DOT drug screening and complying with all DOT regulations, being legally authorized to work in the country of employment, holding a valid driver's license, having 5 years of experience in aviation fuel management, including supervisory roles, possessing in-depth knowledge of industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance related to aviation fuel, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills, being proficient in budgeting, strategic planning, and operations management, building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders and partners, communicating effectively in English, accessing and interpreting information in print and electronically, effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, being eligible to acquire needed credentials and clearances, and being flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical activity/working conditions may include ability to lift up to 70 pounds, prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment, reaching with arms and grasping with hands, pushing, pulling, crawling and crouching in confined tight spaces, bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling, climbing and working at elevated heights, exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels, exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals, exposure to outdoor elements, being able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms, tasks involving repetitive motions, and specific vision abilities.
