Licensed Practical Nurse
This position involves working in a pediatric setting from Monday to Friday. The hours are from 08:30 AM to 04:30 PM, with possible adjustments based on departmental needs. A 60-minute unpaid lunch break is included within the work hours. Candidates should have training in Licensed Practical Nursing and experience in pediatrics is a plus. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program is mandatory. Knowledge of infection control, performance improvement, and delegation principles is necessary for this role. Previous experience in charge roles and familiarity with charting systems, specifically Epic, is preferred. Candidates should have experience in outpatient clinics or urgent care centers. Skills in obtaining clean catch urine specimens, phlebotomy, telephone triage, and vital sign monitoring are essential.
Medication reconciliation, follow-up phone calls, and interpretation of laboratory results are part of the responsibilities. The ability to recognize common pediatric conditions such as asthma, ear infections, and signs of abuse is required. The role includes setting up aseptic and sterile procedure trays and conducting throat specimen collections.
