Position: Manufacturing Engineer II (Onsite)

Overview

Experienced Manufacturing Engineer supporting assembly operations of the Airbus Nacelle systems. The role focuses on optimizing manufacturing performance, designing tooling, analyzing operations, and improving processes to meet production objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure the sequence of manufacturing processes and product builds is followed and complies with EH&S and quality requirements.
  • Own the design and arrangement of tooling and machines for the manufacturing process layout.
  • Improve manufacturing processes and products to achieve producibility in collaboration with design engineers.
  • Implement process upgrades by applying engineering applications such as robotics and automation.
  • Identify opportunities on drawings and specifications to influence engineering design changes and line balancing.
  • Participate in tool‑design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and to reduce build times and program costs during fabrication.
  • Use data analytics/SPC for productivity, First Pass Yield (FPY), and OEE targets and improvements.
  • Drive problem‑solving initiatives and challenge status QUO (C/A Investigations, OEE, FPY, Customer escapes).
  • Contribute to PFMEA and control plans.
  • Own creation and maintenance of manufacturing process documents (routings, BOM, visual aids, standard work, etc.).
  • Participate in digital manufacturing solutions with support from digital subject‑matter experts.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • University degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • SAP experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform real‑time problem resolution in fast‑paced manufacturing or engineering environments.
  • U.S. citizenship is required; only U.S. citizens may be hired for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • B.S. in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and engineering drawings/models.
  • Ability to adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and reading skills for work instructions; basic math and self‑inspection/audit capabilities.
  • Experience in Lean and continuous improvement events.
  • Organizational, multitasking, and resource management skills with effective time management.
  • Intermediate knowledge of operations software and MS Office.
  • Basic understanding of robotics and automation.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma/Red X.
  • Basic knowledge of project management.

Salary range: $68,900–$131,100 USD.
