Job Overview

Senior Manufacturing Engineer – onsite in Foley, AL. The role focuses on supporting assembly operations, cross‑functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do

Work cross functionally with stress, design, electrical, materials and process engineers to improve product design to achieve maximum producibility.
Implement process technology upgrades by applying various engineering applications such as robotics and automation.
Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) events across all business processes and with all levels of leadership.
Support design and arrangement of tooling and machines of the manufacturing process (layout) collaborating with production team.
Identify opportunities on drawings and specs to influence changes to engineering designs that improve product manufacturing and producibility.
Participate in tool design reviews to ensure tools are feasible and reduce build times and program costs during fabrication.
Use advanced data analytics to analyze First Pass Yield (FPY) productivity and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets and improvement.
Ensure sequence on manufacturing process and product builds complies with EH&S and Quality requirements.
Drive problem solving initiatives and challenge status quo (Corrective Action Investigations, OEE, FPY and Customer escapes).
Work cross functionally with Quality participating and contributing to PFMEA and Control Plans.
Participate in digital manufacturing initiatives with support from Digital Subject Matter Experts (SME).

Qualifications

Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Experience reading and interpreting specifications, and engineering drawings and models.
Experience adapting equipment or tooling design to factory and production conditions.
Experience with Continuous Improvement tools.
Experience with CAD design software.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in robotics and automation.
Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Red X ACE or CORE.
Experience with CATIA, other CAD systems.
Experience with 3D printing.
Experience in a Manufacturing Shop Environment.
Understanding of Project Management methods.
