Job Overview
Collins Aerospace is hiring an MRO Support Engineer to support repair and overhaul solutions for aircraft components in metallic and advanced composite construction. The role will be on site in Foley, AL, and involves troubleshooting repairs, developing process improvements, and delivering best‑in‑class solutions.
Responsibilities- Apply knowledge of engineering principles, repair processes, and manufacturing techniques to support repair activity and/or fabrication of repair parts for aircraft components.
- Communicate frequently with internal and external customers, engineers, mechanics, and leaders to drive status updates, progress, and changes.
- Resolve repair problems of moderate complexity with moderate supervision.
- Provide proactive technical support to engineering and operations to meet or exceed external and internal customer requirements.
- Develop processes to accomplish the various procedures in the repair and restoration of components.
- Support Quality Assurance personnel and mechanics to facilitate compliance with policy, procedures, and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with a cross‑functional team and coordinate with external customers.
- Learn to apply lean principles and support improvement of engineering and manufacturing processes using continuous improvement tools.
Required:
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, bill of materials, technical documents.
- Theoretical knowledge of aircraft materials and fabrication/shop processes.
- High‑volume communication experience with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
