Maintenance I&E Technician

Job Overview

Position: E&I Maintenance Technician at Ascend Performance Materials’ Foley, AL production site. Days job with occasional weekend or night work.

• Daily work activities: troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, performing preventive maintenance on plant equipment.
• Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds over 10 feet; climb, bend, stretch, crawl and work in cramped areas as needed.
• Operate and lead work groups, ensure work executed with precision, quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Support shutdowns, emergencies, and special assignments as directed by maintenance leadership.
• Actively participate in safety processes and train others on proper use of equipment and tools.
• Document findings, summarize in written reports, and use SAP maintenance program and PC data entry.
• Work with operations and scheduling to identify and resolve improvement opportunities related to equipment reliability.

• High School diploma or GED; 2-5 years experience troubleshooting industrial electrical control systems down to component level.
• Proficient in diagnosing voltage, current, resistance, temperature and other inputs.
• Install and set up A/C and D/C drives PLC, 3‑phase motor control circuits; install motor drive components.
• Ability to read and understand equipment specifications, technical drawings, prints, and EFDs.
• Fundamental shop math knowledge (fractions, decimals, basic geometry, trigonometry).
• Computer skills for effective use of SAP, PC web‑based data entry and other applications.

• Experience with electrical, instrumentation, and control systems; ability to troubleshoot and repair independently.
• Operate conventional and complex diagnostic instruments/equipment for pressure, temperature, flow and process conditions.
• Knowledge of fasteners, gaskets, tubing, and piping application.
• Effective leadership and influence skills.

Overtime required as needed to support plant operations.
