Quality Engineer II – Foley, AL
This role is located onsite in Foley, AL. The primary focus is improving product and process quality across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain functions. Key responsibilities include root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and continuous improvement using tools such as PFMEA and 8D. The candidate will support audits, resolve non‑conformances, present quality metrics to leadership and customers, and mentor teams in lean manufacturing methodologies.
Responsibilities- Establish quality plans, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective/preventive actions.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to enhance product quality and optimize processes.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to aerospace standards.
- Investigate non‑conformances, deviations, and defects; implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Prepare and present quality reports, metrics, and KPIs to senior leadership and customers.
- Lead containment and problem resolution for customer and internal escapes.
- Apply advanced quality planning techniques (PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, 8‑D, Control Plans) to identify risks.
- Participate in real‑time problem resolution with production and Quality Clinic teams.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing program quality data on key issues such as scrap, rework, and repair.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience with problem‑solving tools such as Red X, 8D, Fault Tree, and 5‑why.
- Preferred:
Experience in a central quality or shop‑floor manufacturing environment; aerospace manufacturing; SAP; SPC; inspection; data analytics; APQP/PPAP; AS9100; and leading complex projects. - U.S. citizenship required; non‑citizens may be considered only if they are U.S. persons with appropriate status.
