Job Overview
Position:
Quality Inspector (Onsite) – Collins Aerospace (RTX).
Location:
1300 W Fern Ave, Foley, AL, USA
. The role is U.S.‑only: U.S. citizenship or equivalent required. No security clearance is necessary. Shift: 1st Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:30A.M. to 3:0P.M. Overtime and varying shift work may be required.
- Pass a color/vision test as part of onboarding.
- Inspect electrical activity and electrical processes.
- Perform detailed product inspections on in‑process and finished goods, including First Article inspections.
- Document product characteristics accurately and with technical detail.
- Initiate Quality Notifications for non‑conforming products.
- Apply quality assurance procedures during hardware inspections and document reviews.
- Identify potential quality issues early and help prevent their occurrence.
- Communicate effectively with other personnel about quality issues requiring resolution.
- Monitor and use calibrated measuring instruments.
- Safely perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) or vocational/technical education related to manufacturing.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in manufacturing or product inspections.
- Experience inspecting components using blueprints and specifications.
- Experience performing measurements with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic math proficiency: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages.
- Ability to use computer systems for data input, retrieval, and configuration during inspections.
- Ability to review documents and identify errors or missing information.
- Familiarity with operating software, including SAP.
- At least two years in an aerospace or similar inspection role preferred.
