Job SummaryResponsible for supporting an exceptional member shopping experience by processing and sorting damaged or defective and/or returned merchandise, reducing salvage, obtaining return authorizations from vendors, and re‑wrapping sellable merchandise.
Responsibilities- Carry out job functions and responsibilities as assigned and support the application of club policies, procedures and compliance.
- Act with honesty and integrity, lead with the member in mind to address and, when necessary, elevate concerns.

- Deliver service excellence at all points of contact, deescalate member concerns, and maintain a commitment to GOLD Member Standards: greet, anticipate, appreciate; fast, friendly, full, fresh, clean club standards.
- Understand and support daily club operations, maintaining accurate signage, organized store, and clear business knowledge.
- Process damaged or defective merchandise by following appropriate salvage, donation, vendor return, reverse logistics, hazardous waste, and destroy procedures.
- Obtain return authorizations from vendors, process vendor chargebacks, and package and ship merchandise returns based on vendor policies.
- Maintain correct stock/inventory status for all damaged, defective and returned merchandise.
- Assess breakage logs for leaking, spoiled and broken merchandise and remove merchandise from inventory accordingly.
- Process freezer and dairy damages.
- Administer salvage and donation merchandise orders and understand the company’s community/donation programs.
- Conduct daily club safety walks and report findings to the Asset Protection Supervisor.
- Support the Inventory Control Count Team on count processing.
- Review daily return reports, process merchandise recalls, and handle tire and battery returns.
- Ensure that the AFS and release dates are followed, and that books are stocked and book returns are completed in partnership with the RICS.
- Process the 945/948/950 in partnership with the AP Specialist.
- Re‑wrap sellable merchandise using appropriate seal and shrink‑wrap packaging guidelines.
- Keep the department organized and clean, following established safety, filing organization, and lock‑up standards.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures, and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
- Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Commitment to regular, predictable, full attendance.
- Mostly spent moving about on hard surfaces.
- Frequently requires bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping, and ladder/step stool use.
- May require lifting objects up to and occasionally above 30 pounds, with assistance for heavier items.
- Requires use of a pallet jack to move pallets.
- Exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures, including extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers.
- Frequent exposure to hazardous materials.
In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $16.25.
