Meat Cutter

Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and deli items, as well as the rotisserie chicken area and full‑service deli. Holds special meat arrangements for members, maintains all sanitation and safety standards within the meat department, and supports project team members in achieving club standards.

• Engage and provide assistance to members by making recommendations about meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members.
• Cut, grind, and/or process fresh meats to company cutting standards.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label meats, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Ensure meat cases showcase all products and are fully stocked.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and fully stock meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases.
• Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Dispose of damaged or expired products following established guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
• Inspect and store meat upon delivery, ensuring all received meats meet or exceed company quality standards.
• Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses into the cooler and freezer.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including placing orders and supporting other departments as needed.

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Minimum age: 18 years.

Work largely involves moving on hard surfaces, occasional bending, reaching, or stooping to examine or scan merchandise. Frequently lifts objects up to 30 pounds, sometimes more with assistance. Operations occur in a cooler area with temperature extremes, loud noises, and occasional exposure to cleaning agents.

Starting salary estimated at $19.75 per hour. Compensation varies with location, experience, and qualifications.
