Senior Project Architect – HDR
Lead the planning, design, documentation, and construction administration of industrial‑type facilities across a range of markets, including data centers, water treatment facilities, advanced manufacturing plants, and office spaces.
Responsibilities- Be knowledgeable in technical design concepts, code applications, design management skills, digital technologies, and design workflows for industrial‑type facilities.
- Lead owner/client and internal meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Lead project teams with varied levels of experience to successfully complete and deliver construction documents and intermediate milestone deliverables.
- Work with the Project Manager to proactively manage scope and schedule.
- Manage and undertake design activities and the production of detailed documents required for construction.
- Independently coordinate the work of a multidisciplinary team through all phases of a project.
- Review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
- Perform QA/QC and cross‑discipline technical reviews.
- Write and edit architectural specifications.
- Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders.
- Incorporate agreed‑upon changes into project documents.
- Provide construction observation and contract administration as needed.
- Conduct work sessions at project site in conjunction with Client Representatives, Project Managers and other disciplines.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Registered Architect.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Scheduler).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and processes.
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills.
- Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of codes and good planning skills.
- Commitment to being an active participant of an employee‑owned culture.
- Master's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in industrial architecture (e.g., data centers, water treatment facilities, public utility facilities, operations centers, aerospace, manufacturing).
- Minimum of 15 years' experience as a licensed professional.
- LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable design.
- Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff.
- Experience facilitating meetings with a range of stakeholders such as engineers, clients, contractors, subcontractors, AHJs.
Due to client contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Salary range: $ – $ annually.
