Instructional Assistant
- Special Day Class (SDC)
We are seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant
- Special Day Class (SDC) to provide instructional support and assistance to teachers and students in our SDC program at Lake Forest Elementary School. The successful candidates will implement specialized curriculum, modifications, accommodations, and behavior management strategies under the guidance of the teacher. Confidentiality and record-keeping will be crucial in this role. Prior experience working with school-age children and a CPR certificate would be desired.
The candidates should have a solid understanding and passion for child development, behavior management, and instructional processes. This position requires following instructions, working independently, and establishing effective working relationships. The schedule is as follows: 6 hours per day, 8:45 AM-3:15 PM on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with a 30-minute unpaid break, 100 days per year. This includes all school and holiday breaks off, as well as earned holiday pay, vacation, and sick leave accrual.

Candidates interested in this position must meet ESSA standards and provide proof of the following: 1. A high school diploma or the equivalent, AND a. Two years of college (48 units), OR b.
A.
A. degree (or higher), OR c. Pass a local (County Office of Education) assessment of knowledge and skills in assisting in instruction. Employment is contingent on DOJ and FBI clearance, and TB assessment clearance. The interviews for this position may run concurrently with the job posting.
