The Folsom Parks & Recreation Department is currently recruiting for multiple CAVE Staff Recreation Leaders to join the Community & Cultural Services Division
Under the direction of Recreation Coordinators and CAVE Site Leads, the Recreation Leader will facilitate daily after school activities including arts and crafts, sports, games, drama, music, homework help and other activities
Schedule- Staff may be scheduled within the following hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 3:00pm - 5:30pm, Thursday 1:30pm - 5:30pm - Additional hours outside of programming may be required for meetings or early dismissal days
- Non-exempt, hourly, part-time
- Part-time positions are hourly and not eligible for benefits and are limited to working 999 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). No full-time regular appointment will be made from this class

Unfortunately, current active CalPERS members are ineligible for employment with part-time positions

Examples of Essential Duties- Assist in implementing fun, engaging, developmentally appropriate recreational activities in an after school program setting for middle school students
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, co-workers, and supervisors
- Work collaboratively on a team and provide a safe and judgement-free atmosphere where children can safely try new things and learn from their experiences
- Perform related duties as assigned
NOTE:

- Demonstrate enthusiasm, positive energy, self-motivation, and maturity
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
Organize, prioritize and pace duties and tasks - Follow oral and written directions

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma, G.E.D. or work permit. Some college education is preferred
ExperiencePrevious experience working with school-age children and/or summer camps preferred
Additional QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of age
License, Certificate, Registration Requirements- Some positions may require possession of, or the ability to obtain and retain, a California Class C driver license by the time of appointment. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Current standard First Aid and CPR Certification
Work is performed in a typical outdoor environment on a year-round basis. (1) Mobility: frequent performance of heavy manual labor, frequent standing, walking, or driving; frequent climbing, reaching, bending, stooping, crawling, and squatting. (2) Lifting: frequent lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. (3) Vision: constant use of overall vision. (4) Dexterity: frequent grasping, holding, reaching, hand/shoulder/elbow movements.
(5) Hearing/Talking: frequent hearing and talking in person. (6) Emotional/Psychological: frequent coworker and public contact; frequent working alone and independent. (7) Environment: frequent exposure to outside elements (sun, wind, rain); loud noise, traffic, fumes, and other environmental substances
Schedule is limited to no more than 999 hours per fiscal year. Temporary, hourly positions are not eligible for benefits
