As a Site Civil Engineer in HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you will be involved in designing critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive.
Project Types- Department of Defense projects (USACE, Air Force, Space Force, Navy)
- Technology and manufacturing projects, including data centers
- Solid waste and wastewater facility improvements
- Solar, battery storage, and substation projects
- Lead or assist with preparation of construction documents
- Work with junior, mid‑level, and senior engineers of various disciplines to complete engineering assignments
- Develop unique solutions to solve problems encountered during design
- Develop and work within budget and schedule
- Prepare plan drawings, technical specifications, design documentation reports, bid quantities, and construction cost estimates
- Modify plan drawings and coordinate with AutoCAD drafters and Civil 3D designers; prepare designs in Civil 3D
- Mentor junior staff
- Perform site visits to confirm field conditions
- Perform engineering assignments that require critical thinking and creativity to address unique elements that have limited or no specific code‑based guidance
- Perform other duties as needed
- BS degree in Civil Engineering
- Five years’ minimum experience in land development site/civil or related projects
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously
- Willingness to travel throughout the United States as needed
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous experience in general civil engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
- Proficient experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Bentley Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Open Flows) as required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills

Compensation range: $85,470 – $138,750 annually, based on skills, experience, education, and location.
