HDR is looking for a Structural Engineering Coordinator/EIT candidate to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA.
Responsibilities- Perform detailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations, and develop construction documents for a variety of structures under the responsibility of a Professional Engineer.
- Write and edit structural specifications and reports.
- Verify code compliance, quality checks, and meet project schedules and budget.
- Work independently on small projects and assist senior engineers on larger projects.
- Perform small tasks in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and provide engineering services during construction.
- Use finite element analysis software (RAM, ETABS, SAP
2000) and hand calculations to perform your work. - Participate in project site visits with project management and multidisciplinary teams.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Candidate hired without EIT will be titled "Coordinator" and expected to obtain EIT for career progression.
- Master of Science (MS) in Structural Engineering or Structural emphasis, 3.5+ GPA.
- Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time) is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to structural engineering.
- Willingness to try new things and be forward-thinking, innovative.
- Familiarity with CADD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or Microstation.
- Ability to travel.
- Understanding of finite element method and basic FEA.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment with analytical and organizational skills to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate work with other disciplines and CAD/BIM designers.
- Attention to accuracy, detail-orientation, self-directed learning, meeting deadlines, and multi-tasking.
- Work full time in assigned office.
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar.

Compensation range: $70,219.00 - $ annually depending on skills, experience, education and geographical location.
