Are you about to graduate, or currently studying Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, and looking for an opportunity where you can actually build, test and work with cutting‑edge aerospace hardware?
I'm supporting an innovative aerospace and defense company that is looking for an Engineering Intern / Variable‑Hour Aerospace Technician to join its team in Folsom, California.
This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about aerospace engineering and enjoys getting hands‑on. If you'd rather be assembling hardware, building prototypes and solving engineering challenges than sitting behind a desk all day, this could be exactly what you're looking for.
The position has been designed to fit around your studies, allowing you to work full‑time during university breaks before moving to a flexible part‑time schedule during the academic year.
You’ll gain exposure to the complete engineering lifecycle, supporting projects from initial design through to manufacturing, testing and final integration.
You'll be involved in:- Building and assembling prototype aerospace hardware
- Supporting mechanical and aerospace engineers throughout the design process
- Prototype fabrication, manufacturing and integration
- Working with CAD models and engineering drawings
- Testing, instrumentation and data collection
- Inspection and quality assurance
- Working alongside experienced engineers on real aerospace and defense programmes
- Are studying, or have recently graduated in, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related STEM discipline
- Have an active U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Are passionate about aerospace and advanced engineering
- Enjoy hands‑on work and building things
- Have experience in military, aviation, manufacturing or other safety‑critical environments
Experience with CAD, GD&T, manufacturing processes or propulsion systems would be an advantage, but curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important.
This is an exceptional opportunity to kick‑start your engineering career while continuing your education, working alongside a highly experienced team developing next‑generation aerospace technology.
If this sounds like you, I'd love to hear from you. Apply today or send me a message for a confidential conversation.
