HDR is looking for a Senior Structural Project Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Walnut Creek or Folsom, CA office. This individual will be responsible for the structural design of facilities in support of a variety of markets including Technology, Corporate/Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Power, and Federal. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidisciplinary design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration.

They will be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction. Experience in structural design and detailing of building related projects is required. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound structural engineering designs.

• Be responsible for structural EIT’s, junior engineers, designers, and/or modelers toward technical training and development and project delivery
• Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in structural engineering as it relates to projects, and resolve problems of greater scope and complexity
• Serve as EOR to perform, plan, direct, and monitor all structural aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, typically involving a large project staff
• Coordinate staffing and workload of staff through entire project development to complete documents on schedule
• Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently
• Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with other Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines
