Under the direction of the Manager of Interconnection Resources, this position supports the financial and administrative activities associated with generator interconnection requests. The role is responsible for financial tracking, application intake support, coordination with internal teams and Participating Transmission Owners (PTOs), and maintaining accurate interconnection records. The position ensures that all financial documentation and processes align with applicable tariffs and Business Practice Manuals, with guidance and oversight from senior team members.
Key Responsibilities- Track and verify study deposits, site exclusivity deposits, application fees, project billings, and customer refunds.
- Coordinate with interconnection customers, PTOs, contractors, and internal accounting teams to resolve routine billing questions.
- Follow established procedures to ensure financial accuracy and tariff compliance; escalate discrepancies as appropriate.
- Provide routine guidance to internal staff regarding charge codes and billing process steps.
- Receive, review, and validate generator interconnection applications with a focus on financial requirements.
- Coordinate with internal teams and PTO staff to ensure required financial documentation is collected, accurately recorded, and properly accounted for.
- Work with senior staff to ensure compliance with tariff and Business Practice Manual requirements related to financial documentation and processes.
- Maintain tracking tools and spreadsheets to ensure accurate financial and application-related data.
- Identify minor process gaps and recommend improvements to leadership.
- Participate in internal discussions related to procedural updates and enhancements.
- Maintain accurate financial and project information in systems such as GRIP, RIMS, and other internal tracking tools.
- Perform routine data validation and system updates to support reporting accuracy.
- Assist Interconnection Specialists during application intake, scoring, validation, and customer communications as needed.
- Participate in meetings and support the preparation of interconnection-related documentation.
- Support compliance-related documentation and ensure adherence to internal procedures.
- Assist managers with administrative tasks, including creating work orders, monitoring purchase orders, and preparing routine reports (e.g., monthly allocations and quarterly updates).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, accounting support, project coordination, or utility/energy administrative roles.
- Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with financial data, records, and tracking tools.
- Ability to collaborate across business units and follow established processes with accuracy.
- Willingness to learn applicable tariffs, financial requirements, and industry procedures with guidance from senior staff.
- Comfortable engaging with interconnection customers to address financial questions and reinforce tariff requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
