Registered Nurse - GI/IR Hybrid – UHC Staffing Registered Nurse - GI/IR Hybrid

Location: Folsom, CA

Start Date: 03-03-2026

End Date: 06-02-2026

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day) with GI on-call coverage Monday-Friday 4:00 PM - 8:00 AM and weekend call Saturday-Sunday 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM (includes overnight on-call coverage)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $77 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Circulate in GI procedures, ensuring patient safety and smooth case flow
  • Provide circulating support and manage procedural sedation for IR cases, including airway management
  • Assist in both GI and IR suites as part of a three-person team with adaptable role coverage
  • Support outpatient GI cases such as EGDs, colonoscopies and ERCPs, and assist with occasional advanced procedures
  • Collaborate with instrument techs and scrub techs to maintain sterile technique and efficient turnover
  • Participate in on-call coverage and respond to GI calls during evenings, overnights and weekend windows
  • Engage in ongoing learning and competency checks (including required DYS exam) to maintain practice standards
Qualifications
  • Active RN license for California (current and in good standing)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (all AHA where noted) — Procedural Sedation certification required within hiring window (provided during orientation)
  • Minimum clinical experience: at least 1 year (posting lists 2 years in job details; 1 year specifically called out as a must-have)
  • If only IR-focused, at least 1 year of IR, ICU, or ER experience is required
  • Strongly preferred: experience teching for GI cases or willingness to train to perform GI tech tasks
  • Comfortable with Cerner charting system (experience preferred)
  • Ability to float to sister hospitals when needed and participate in holiday/call schedules
Education
  • Valid RN license required

Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of GI procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP) and common IR procedures (dialysis catheters, thoracentesis, biopsies)
  • Skill in circulating and assisting with procedural sedation and airway management
  • Familiarity with instrument handling and scope-cleaning processes (or willingness to learn)
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in small perioperative/IR environments
  • Ability to prioritize cases and adapt between GI and IR workflows during the day
