Key Responsibilities
- Provides SMART customer service at all times through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures, and programs.
- Builds relationships with vendors, giving direction and ensuring merchandise resets meet Lowe’s specifications.
- Collaborates with the Merchandising Service team and Manager to communicate project priorities, schedule, and needs (e.g., materials, supplies, time).
- Analyzes metrics and gives feedback on project execution and in‑store service to store, market, and corporate leaders.
- Engages with customers when opportunities arise: understands needs, assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise; listens and responds knowledgeably and promptly; demonstrates sincere appreciation; communicates stock, special‑order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information.
- Moves or replaces beams and grids, rotates stock, builds products, and displays items using power equipment (e.g., lifts, order pickers) per reset or project instructions.
- Identifies damaged products, removes them from shelves, delivers them to Return to Manufacturer (RTM) area, and signs off as defective.
- Verifies buyback items, ensuring they are pulled, prepped, and ready for shipping.
- Identifies damaged or missing signage, displays, and collateral and orders replacements per merchandising standards and planogram details.
- Ensures product pricing information is visible and clear, replacing missing or incorrect labels.
- Updates and validates way finding and product location signage, including digital maintenance of this information store‑wide.
- Ensures cross‑merchandise, side‑stack products, j‑hooks, and gravity‑feed bins are placed to enhance add‑on sales.
- Works with store leadership to stage clearance and damaged merchandise for quick sale.
- Sorts products in bins, drawers, and boxes to keep them properly located.
- Merchandises plants per plantogram, prices, color block, and places plants as they arrive; fills plant racks onto tables to grand‑opening standards.
- Maintains a safe and secure work environment: conducts daily safety reviews, notes hazards, keeps aisles clear, secures doors and gates; adheres to all safety requirements (top‑stock safety, safety cables, aisle blockers, tether lines on power equipment, spotters, safety devices).
- Operates store equipment as required, e.g., telephone, paging system, copiers, fax, computer, CCTV, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, floor cutters, compactor baler.
- Reviews, completes, and enters completion details—including time spent and photographs—for all assigned merchandise reset, service, and maintenance tasks.
- Ensures reset displays are safe and functioning; repairs or replaces as needed.
- Repairs/seals damaged packaging and boxes (including peg‑hook items).
- Removes trash, moves cardboard boxes to bailer, and disposes of plastic wrap and other debris in compactor.
- Replaces light bulbs and alerts appropriate contacts for additional maintenance (lights out, painting, etc.).
- Detects signs of shoplifting, theft, or other security risks and reports promptly to management or Asset Protection.
- Ensures compliance with housekeeping standards and programs (e.g., Zone Recovery) to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Maintains point‑of‑sale signage, including bin‑plus‑beam label stock, ensuring all locators are placed and price changes are activated.
- Audits and updates pricing labels inside and outside the store to ensure accuracy, following state‑specific guidelines.
- In addition to the above responsibilities, this individual is held accountable for other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; or relevant experience in lieu of education.
- 6 months of Lowe’s sales floor experience.
- 6 months performing product merchandising tasks, including reading planograms and plantograms, setting up and tearing down displays.
- 3 months operating power equipment such as lifts, order pickers, and similar equipment.
$16.90 - $17.85 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.
