• Provide a high level of customer service and product knowledge, practicing safe food handling procedures.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload and transport fresh, cured, and boxed meats and poultry from delivery trucks.
• Count and weigh incoming articles and compare results against an invoice.
• Examine meats in storage and rotate them to avoid aging.
• Assist customers with questions, special orders, and needs while maintaining a positive, customer‑focused work environment.
• Know weekly ad items, direct customers to product location, and follow the “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” programs.
• Adhere to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

• Be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent and basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Be dependable and reliable, and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Show an outgoing and friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and the ability to interact with customers.
• Work a flexible schedule that changes with business demands, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills, take direction, and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (including tables, floors, walls, cases, cooler, freezer).
• Adhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously and work a total of 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours.
• Operate in a temperature‑controlled area and use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs.
• Use sharp knives, band‑saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer safely.
• Lift or carry products horizontally or vertically between 25‑90 lbs from 4” to 60”, up to 10 feet over 2‑3 hours.

The pay range for this position is $17.20 - $23.20 per hour. The exact rate is based on applicable experience and qualifications.
