What You Will Do
The Johnson Controls Security Sales Manager leads the commercial security sales team, building a high‑performance sales force that meets revenue and customer needs. The role drives corporate sales and marketing initiatives within assigned territories, focusing on business development, territory management, data mining, professional presentation, and product sales. It also manages channel profitability, customer growth (RPU), and retention of customers and sales representatives.
HowYou Will Do It
- Model and champion Johnson Controls values, fostering a safe environment for values‑related discussions.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement commercial sales operations, including business and customer development and territory management.
- Achieve budgeted revenue expectations and ensure channel profitability.
- Build and retain an effective sales team, coaching and motivating to reach goals.
- Set territory expectations for sales representatives and direct their territory activities.
- Measure representatives’ marketing activities to ensure they produce intended sales results.
- Execute the company’s marketing strategy and business plans.
- Collaborate with other department and business segment leaders to align sales operations.
- Partner with National Account Managers to secure national account business.
- College degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, or comparable work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, including 3 years of field sales management in B2B, or management of another sales channel.
- Excellent oral and written communication; strong follow‑up and organizational skills.
- Organizational agility and ability to interact with senior executives and field teams both internally and externally.
- Functional/technical skills in leading a diverse sales organization.
- Capability to work in a matrix structure, resolve conflicts, demonstrate managerial courage, and adapt to change.
- Action‑oriented, results‑driven, with team performance management experience.
- Financial business acumen, forecasting, and P&L experience.
- Willingness to travel nights and weekends as needed.
- BA in Marketing.
- Five years of security systems sales experience.
- Two years of sales leadership experience.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $117,500–$183,000, based on education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data. Includes a competitive sales incentive plan based on volume, margin, quarterly, and annual performance. Eligibility for additional compensation based on exceptional experience or skill is encouraged.
