What you will do
  • Sell Johnson Controls Building Efficiency offerings to mechanical contractors, designers, and consulting engineers
  • Promote the company’s value proposition to the construction community by providing business and technical solutions
  • Build and manage long‑term customer relationships and partnerships with assigned accounts
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty in collaboration with operations partners
  • Position renewable service agreements as a foundation of managed account relationships
  • Execute the sales process to cultivate and manage long‑term relationships and close new sales opportunities
  • Utilize sales tools to plan, document progress, and increase business opportunities across all Building Efficiency lines of business in assigned accounts
  • Expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings sold within assigned accounts
  • Participate as a member on select account teams and, when needed, lead the account team for target and key accounts
  • Continuously develop sales skills and enhance knowledge of Johnson Controls products and services
How you will do it
  • Sales independently with minimal supervision, persuasively, persistently, and confidently to contractors, consultants, and designers
  • Manage multiple ongoing opportunities, selling, renewing, and expanding renewable service agreements, including multi‑year agreements
  • Build partnering relationships with owner‑construction community decision makers to drive sales
  • Actively listen, probe, and identify customer concerns and business cycles
  • Demonstrate technical and business expertise, maintaining credibility and gaining customer trust and loyalty
  • Identify and initiate contact with prospective customers aligned with Johnson Controls strategy
  • Develop and maintain an industry contacts network and leverage the sales process to advance sales
  • Share technical knowledge and business expertise to match solutions to customer operational needs and position Johnson Controls favorably
  • Qualify and assess potential customers, addressing operational and environmental objectives and requirements
  • Differentiate Johnson Controls services and products from competitors through creativity, ingenuity, and innovation in a value‑added sales approach
  • Create competitive, high‑quality, and timely estimates, proposals, and cost/benefit analyses
  • Effectively write and present proposals, negotiate value, address resistance, and close sales
  • Leverage the Johnson Controls sales process to close sales quickly and manage pipeline activity with focus on sales phases and close dates
  • Act as the customer’s advocate in all interactions to ensure optimal value from Johnson Controls offerings
  • Set realistic customer expectations, participate in final project inspection, and ensure customer training and orientation to system operation
What we look for
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related discipline
  • Minimum six (6) years of commercial HVAC sales experience
  • At least three (3) years of commercial HVAC service & repair project generation experience (preferred)
  • Commitment to integrity and quality in business
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels
Salary Range

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $70,000 – $109,000 plus incentive plan based on project, quarterly, and annual margin. Salary will be determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and market data.
