Job Description
Eurofins Environment Testing is seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our team! The Sample Receiving Technician responsibilities involve assisting and overseeing various aspects of receiving, logging in, pressurizing, screening, and distributing samples.
Responsibilities
- Accept and sign for deliveries; log samples using the company’s LIMS system.
- Open boxes and coolers, inspect shipment contents, and check documentation to ensure all samples are accounted for.
- Pressurize canister samples.
- Read, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) required by the method, Air Toxics methods, clients, or internal procedures.
- Perform documentation, sample preparation, standard preparation, and data handling in accordance with SOPs or methods.
- Conduct routine maintenance on pressurization instruments.
- Provide miscellaneous support to departments as requested by management.
- Respond to daily requests in a timely manner.
- Communicate any roadblocks encountered while performing routine and non-routine tasks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Screen samples and evaluate results.
- Prepare Tedlar Bags and canister dilutions; re-screen when a saturated level of analytes is present.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Experience working in a fast paced, production environment like food service or manufacturing
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to meet project deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong teamwork abilities and a commitment to conducting all activities safely and efficiently.
- Regular attendance and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques.
- Proficiency in computer skills (MS Word and Excel).
- Ability to handle issues calmly and effectively.
- Physical capability to perform job requirements.
- Availability to work full-time (M-F) during training, with flexibility to rotate weekends and overtime as needed.
- Demonstrates and promotes the company’s vision.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
Ability and Skills
Adherence to safety protocol and operation procedures; communicate well with coworkers and management; read, understand and comply with SOPs; ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a continuous basis, stand for prolonged periods; work upright, bend and use hands and arms repetitively to perform moderate physical work duties; the ability to push carts with objects on board weighing up to 50 pounds;
hearing and speaking are needed to listen effectively and talk with individuals in person or on the phone
