Software Engineer II - UI​/UX

Job Summary

Excitement and eagerness to learn and apply new technologies in the airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance mission space. Development and application of advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in applying software to solve challenging problems. Design and development of graphical user interface applications enhancing and enabling the user’s experience. Incorporate human factors in the workflow, eye movement efficient user interface, and key click/mouse click optimization in the design and development of end applications.

The position will provide opportunities to work directly with technical peers, chief engineers, systems engineering and program managers within the company.

• Work with senior engineers and customers to define and transform UX requirements into UI wireframes, mockups, and working prototypes
• Interface with the engineering team in designing intuitive web application for a user/analyst using modern web design methods
• Ability to develop innovative solutions using emerging technologies
• Document and present design material to engineers, customers, and management
• Evaluate and leverage emerging software technology
• Prepare presentation material and present at customer reviews and technical interchange meetings
• Participate in customer meetings, peer reviews, and problem-solving meetings
• Identify potential solutions given technology, organization, and management constraints
• Make critical decisions that define the direction for the software products/deliverables
• Other related job duties, as assigned

• Two (2) years to four (4) years of experience in similar position
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university

• Agile software development team experience
• Full stack experience developing web-based applications
• Languages:
  
  Java script, Type Script, HTML/CSS, Java
• Databases:
  MongoDB
• Frameworks:
  React, Express, Node, Next, Cesium, Resium, MUI (Material UI), WebGL or WebGPU
• Tools:
  Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
• Implementation of new or improved features to an existing MERN system
• Working knowledge of Agile software development methods
• Working knowledge of RESTful APIs
• Proven ability to successfully multi-task in a highly collaborative team environment
• Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as workload changes
• Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
• Working knowledge of mathematical and statistical principles and formulas.
• Working knowledge of security and encryption
• Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).

The salary range represents the base salary range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors. Those include but are not limited to location, experience, and performance.
