The SPD is currently recruiting to fill one part‑time (75% FTE) Legal Secretary position in our Fond Du Lac Trial office.
Position SummaryThe Legal Secretary (LS) provides clerical and administrative support to the local office staff, including attorneys. Join our team and contribute to this key function of the SPD, and experience the intrinsic reward of public service.
SalaryThis classification is in pay schedule/range 02‑12 with a starting salary of $24.61 per hour. A one‑year probationary period will be required. Permanent classified state employees who are eligible for consideration may complete the application process as described above by the stated deadline.
Job DetailsBackground Check: A criminal background check will be done prior to an offer of employment.
Eligibility to work in the US: The SPD does not sponsor work visas. All persons hired must verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required Employment Eligibility Form I‑9.

Qualifications- Providing administrative, clerical or office support (e.g., greeting visitors, answering phones, mail distribution, etc.)
- Working with Microsoft Office Suites and/or Google Suites (e.g., Google Drive files, word processing, database entry, email, scheduling, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Proofreading documents (your letter of qualifications will be used to assess your proofreading abilities)
- Detail oriented (accurately completing tasks, following instructions, gathering & organizing information, etc.)
- Experience in a law office and/or with the criminal justice system (preferred)
LETTER OF QUALIFICATIONS & RESUME: You must submit both documents. It is important that you clearly explain and elaborate on your experience and/or training in your letter of qualifications and resume.
